A Story I Am Working On

She sat plucking at her Fender Stratocaster. The one she had bought two years prior to this date. The guitar had always interested her as a child, but she never took the time to realize she had the capability to learn how to play it. The friends she started hanging out with played guitar if not any other instrument and by them doing so it inspired her.
Her name was Sara. She had naturally brown hair but it has remained black for as long as she can remember. It wasn’t just black though. She always added a funky color or style to it. From pink underneath, red highlights or lime green at the tips. She had always made her own style, and never cared what people said about her.
“Damnit,” She mumbled to herself as her “E” string broke. “I suppose it’s time I change these strings”
As she was searching through her drawers for the extra strings she bought, she heard her mum pull into the driveway. She rushed to turn off her amp and put the guitar into its case and put it back into the closet. She new her mum never had approved of her guitar or anything Sara liked for that matter. Her mum was very religious and only listened to hymns. That was a big problem for Sara, as she enjoyed her music, guitar and style. Her music and guitar sometimes was the only thing that mattered.
“Sara!” She heard her mum call from upstairs. “Please come and help me with the groceries.”
“Yeah, just a second.”
Sara opened her last drawer and found her extra strings and placed them on her bed, and slowly went up the stairs, as she did not want to help with the groceries. As Sara brought in the last of the groceries her mum started to talk to her.
“How was your day, dear?”
“It was wonderful. I just learned a new song on my guitar. I’m so excited.”
“Oh, Sara,” Her mum sighed. “I do wish you’d quit playing that darn thing. It’s not going to make a career for you. There are thousands of people out there that make bands and get nowhere with them. Now, if you put all that time you spend on the guitar into your school work you will be able to go to a University. You’re guaranteed a well paying job.
“Mother! Just...just...just…STOP IT!” Yelled Sara at the top of her lungs. “Why can’t you just accept me for whom I am and stop making me into the person you want me to be? I can’t be like you. I like my music, my hair, my guitar and my style. It’s not hurting anyone. All my friends’ parents let them be who they want to be, why can’t you be like them?” And with that Sara stormed down to her room. She opened the door, slammed it behind her and grabbed her guitar. It wasn’t in the closet where she should have put it, but she knew her mum would have gotten mad if she hadn’t been upstairs right away.
The strings were still on her bed and she began taking them out of the package. Carefully she took the strings off her guitar and replaced them with the new ones. She was still mad at her mum, but was glad that she glad her guitar. She never did understand what was so bad about it. She never understood why her mum wouldn’t let her be herself. What was so bad about being who she wanted to be?
Am I really hurting anyone? She asked herself.
Chapter two
"Hello?" Sara said as she answered the phone.
"Hey!" replied the voice on the other line. "It's Anna. What's up?"
"Not a lot."
"Are we going to practice today? Sean, and Maggie can come."
"Yeah, I'll be there in twenty minutes. I'll have to sneak my guitar out. My mum started snapping off at me again"
"Okay, sounds good. See you then."
And they hung up. Sara went up the stairs quietly to see wher her mum was. She was sitting on the blue couch watching T.V. Sara went back downstairs and grabbed her guitar, put it into the case and walked quietly up the stairs. As she went out the door she called to her mum.
"Mum, I'm going to Anna's. I'll be home at eight."
"Okay, but as long as you guys aren't going to be wandering around town or practicing for your so-called band," her mum replied.
Sara ran quickly out of her mum's sight. The street was covered with snow and it made it hard to run fast. The trees glistened from the street lights. Sara was scared to walk too fast, as she might fall on some snow covered ice. Finally she made it Anna’s house and walked into the garage. Everyone was waiting for her.
“Hey guys,” said Sara. “Sorry it took me so long, I didn’t want to slip and fall. It’s pretty slippery outside.”
“Okay,” said Sean “Let’s start.”
Maggie lead them in a beginning drumstick clap. Sara was so glad that she could begin to play her guitar to max volume. The music was loud but good. People that walked by the garage could hear them and said to each other that, they wouldn’t be surprised if they made it into the music business.
“Sean, Maggie, Sara, I found an article in the newspaper for musicians to go play at Links. I think that we should go. We could get a record deal,” Anna told them.
“You know how many of those we’ve gone to. We haven’t got a record deal yet,” replied Sean.
“We could at least try again,” said Sara and Maggie in unison.
“I suppose so,” said Sean looking over at Anna. You could tell he wanted to, but just didn’t want to fail again.

That's what I have so far. I don't think that it's good, but my mum told me to put it on so i was all W/e and I did lol.
